To be stripped bare naked
And still be fully clothed
It is to be the victim
Whilst also being the perpetrator
It is to cry with fear
When fiercely leading soldiers into battle

Do you know how it feels to win externally
And yet still be losing internally
Do you know what it is like to be everyone’s hero
And yet be your own villain
Do you know what it’s like to be everyone’s rock
But yet deep down be porous

I’ve never been brave enough to tell the world
That I feel as though I am a walking contradiction
I seem so comfortable in my own skin
Yet the smallest of things can cause a breakdown
